Research - Carol Vernallis theory

Carol Vernallis' theory on music video's consists of the specific features of the editing in music videos.
These include:

- Edits in music videos come much more frequently than in films
- Many of these stand out as dis junctures
- Editing appears to have a rhythmic bases which is closely connected to the song
- The rules of frequent and 'continuity' editing used to draw attention to what is on screen (wipes and special effects are added)
- A base track is usually used, which gives a structure to the music video
- The camera may move in time with the music itself (including lip syncing and dancing.)

Here are three examples of music videos that s at least three of main ideas.

KANYE WEST - GOOD LIFE

MACKLEMORE & RYAN LEWIS - THRIFT SHOP

LADY GAGA - TELEPHONE
