Research - Andrew Goodwin

Andrew Goodwin speaks on the idea that traditional narrative doesn't apply to pop videos as the music video is built around songs and songs usually do not contain traditional narrative structure, the pop video uses the singer as both the narrator and character and the singer will look directly at the camera whereas in films and tv series' this isn't common.

Pop videos rely on repetition as it may fit to the song so we often see scenes repeatedly.
Pop videos only have 3-5 minutes so they are usually unable to have a structure and tell a whole story but rather just give bits and pieces.
